Melissa previously served as the Medical Director at the University of Michigan West Ann Arbor Health Center, where she led the site through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Under her leadership, her team established the first ambulatory care Covid triage clinic while also consolidating 12 primary care clinics into a single location. She is particularly proud of her ability to ensure the safety of both her team and patients, with no staff members contracting Covid from workplace exposure in the first year of the pandemic. This experience reinforced for Melissa the importance of compassion, humility, and authenticity in navigating times of crisis.
